This two-tier review system ensures that our most consequential reporting meets the highest bar for accuracy, fairness, and legal safety before it reaches our readers.
Clear labelling of content types
We maintain a strict and transparent distinction between different types of content. News articles report facts and events. Opinion pieces, clearly labelled as such, reflect the views of the author. Reviews are assessments of products, services, or cultural works. Sponsored content is produced in partnership with a commercial client and is always labelled with a clear disclosure. Affiliate content contains links that may earn us a commission, and this is disclosed at the point of the link or within the article. Promotional material is clearly identified. No content type is disguised as another. Readers should always know exactly what they are reading and why it has been published.
Article-level transparency
Every article on EveningLedger.uk carries a byline linking to the author’s profile on our Our Team page. Publication dates and last-updated dates are displayed prominently. Where an article has been reviewed by an editor or fact-checked by our Standards Lead, this is noted. Source references are included within the text or linked where possible. We disclose any press access, event attendance, or commercial relationships relevant to the story. Correction notes are appended to articles when errors are corrected, and readers are directed to our Corrections Policy for full details.
Experience signals
We believe readers deserve to know how a story was gathered. Our articles state whether coverage is based on a public meeting attended by the writer, an interview, a site visit, a government or parliamentary document, a public record, a press conference, an official press release, a verified social media post, or a product or event reviewed directly by the writer. This transparency allows you to assess the basis of our reporting for yourself.
